Daily Grind.

Imagemp

This morning before work in a glass panneled conference room over looking Vienna,

I went down stairs to 1 Hr Merket and bought a croissant

folded over two halved slices of apricot.

This morning before work at a chemotherapy software company,

I went into the kitchen and made myself a cappuccino by pushing the button

that says, “cappuccino”.

This morning before gravimetrically weighing and compounding

cytotoxics and hydration infusions,

I took the U6 to Handelskai, and read East of Eden

the whole way without looking out the window.

This morning, before dressing,

I showered, using the bar of Aveda Rosemary Mint soap

that someone left in my bike basket in New York.

This morning, before showering,

I woke in a twin bed,

under a clouded sky,

in the top floor,

of the place that’s now

called home.
