teeth

mouth to curb

the sharks gnash their teeth

near Venice beach.

Metal barrel still hot

and the pound

the pound the

waiting for the pouring rain

the heat cracks

splits lips

the feeling

so much feeling

and all of it

so

far

from

where the dogs howl

the blond in the covenient store

tugs at her skirt

pays for her Newports

and diet pepsi

stepfathers

mayonnaise

leashes

the same diner

over

and over

cops watch the van with

shades drawn

cabbies play chess

at the green poker table

please

please

please let it be

saturday

soon
